Good news for all the Corvette fans out there as the updates for the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette has been revealed. The word ‘revealed’ should better be read as ‘leaked,’ as the information does not come in the form of any official announcement, but is derived from a post in the C8 Corvette Owners’ Group on Facebook. As reported by the Corvette Blogger, the information about potential changes in the 2021 Corvette was made available on the Facebook group late on Saturday, thanks to Aaron Adams of Sims Chevrolet.
One of the most exciting changes in the 2021 Corvette, which is being talked about a lot, is the addition of the two new exterior colour shades. The report says that the earlier Long Beach Red and the Blade Silver colors shall be discontinued, and in its place, Corvette is introducing the new Red Mist Tintcoat and the Silver Flare colors. Rumour has it that the Silver Flare hue is the same one that we have already seen in the new C8.R race car. It is also being said that the Red Mist color may turn out to be pretty close to the Magnetic Red and the Crystal Red Metallic colors. Corvette Blogger further reports that a Red Mist Tintcoat color-chip has surfaced from an automotive touch-up paint retailer. According to the Automotive touch-up web handle, the Red Mist Tincoat’s RPO code is GPH, and that code is associated with the new-found color-chip bearing the name of Tactical Pearl 1. It is speculated that this Tactical Pearl color may be the real name of the Red Mist Tintcoat of the Corvette. However, we’ll have to wait longer to get some clarity on the matter.
The leaked report further talks about several new Racing Stripe and Stringer Stripe colors for the new 2021 Corvette. The list includes:
- Full-Length Racing Stripe – Orange
- Full-Length Racing Stripe – Red
- Full-Length Racing Stripe – Yellow
- Full-Length Racing Stripe – Carbon Flash
- Full-Length Racing Stripe – Sterling Silver
- Full-Length Racing Stripe – Blue
- Full-Length Racing Stripe – Midnight
- Stinger (Center Hood)
- Stinger Stripe – Carbon Flash / Edge Yellow
- Stinger Stripe – Carbon Flash / Midnight Silver
- Stinger Stripe – Carbon Flash / Edge Red
Besides these, there are talks about the increased use of carbon fiber accessories. The leak mentions about an LPO High-Wing as well as LPO Door Intake trim to be in Visible Carbon Fibre. There is a possibility of a “Stingray R” theme graphics and wheel cap. WeatherTech All-Weather Floor Liner with Jake Logo will also be available. The 3LT trim is supposed to get an interior upgrade in the form of an “HFC Trim Suede Strike Yellow/Sky Cool gray seats” and “HT7 Leather Jet Black w/sky cool gray seats”.
The host of changes in the exterior and interior colors of the 2021 Corvette, although it sounds exciting enough, some more upgrades are being discussed. The leaked information claims that there would be Wireless Apple CarPlay system standard on all 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trims. Further, the FE2 Mag Ride (Magnetic Suspension Ride Control) shall from now on, be available as a standalone option, and the Z51 Package will not be required.
