From a company with a history in making performance upgrades to vehicles with respect to emission laws in all states, Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) has offered yet another GM truck with a supercharged V6.
SVE released a custom-built GMC Canyon Syclone re-creation which was originally a renowned 90s truck. The recreation of the GMC Syclone was appreciated by a large audience too. Keeping the GMC Syclone in mind they have made one more special vehicle which is a 2020 Chevy Colorado Xtreme.
SVE is known for making performance upgrades to GM cars without letting the vehicle violate any emission law. This time the engine they chose to work on is the GM’s V6 3.6L LGZ which comes with a supercharger. The engine is powerful enough to produce up to 455 HP and 435 pound-feet of torque. The engine has a centrifugal supercharger instead of the conventional hood-mounted ones attached with an air-to-water intercooler mechanism. The truck has a badge of Xtreme on the sides and the hood giving the truck an Xtreme look.
SVE also tuned the suspension setup pf the truck by lowering the truck 2-inches from the front and 5-inches from the rear. The truck comes with optional features such a sway bars and traction bars and bushings. You’ll also get new performance brake rotors and carbon brake pads.
The truck went under a very thorough makeover mechanically with many new features including:
- Alloy Wheels Five-spoke (20-inch)
- Composite Hood with Extreme written over it
- Extreme logo and badges all over the truck
The additional Xtreme package can be paired with any version of the pickup truck available in the market: crew cab and extended cab versions. You need not worry about the drivetrain of the pickup as both the two-wheel-drive and the four-wheel-drive can be upgraded with this package.
SVE made a release regarding the first-gen of the 2020 Chevy Colorado Extreme saying
“Most trucks are made to haul stuff. Think of Xtreme as a sports car that hauls ass. Now in the spirit of the legendary 1st gen. Chevy Xtreme, Specialty Vehicle Engineering introduces the 2020 Limited Edition Next Generation Xtreme.”SVE in a Press Release
Enough talk about the engine and the exterior of the truck, let’s get inside the truck and give you guys a brief description of the things that you will get with the truck. The interior remains mostly the same but with additions such as ‘Xtreme’ logos printed on the seat headrest, floor mats, and a numbered plaque. Apart from this SVE provided an additional option of a different rear n a d front seat package which compliments the factory colors which come default in the pickup truck.
