General Motors (GM) recently announced during the EV Day event held yesterday that it will launch 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV during the summer season of 2021. The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV has taken inspiration from the Chevrolet Bolt EV and is a crossover version of the EV. Moreover, this will be GM’s first car outside the Cadillac range. It will have features like Super Cruise, autonomous hands-free driving tech, and most probably offer better performance and range than the Bolt EV with the assistance of the Ultium battery tech and EV platform.
Besides the features mentioned above, the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV will have more room space of the passenger as well as cargo storage in comparison to the Chevrolet Bolt EV. We are expecting 8″ to 12″ enhancement in contrast to the standard Chevrolet Bolt EV. Moreover, the newest version of the Chevrolet Bolt EV is expected to launch in 2020 after the arrival of the 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EUV. Presently, we are unclear about GM’s plan of the Chevrolet Bolt EV; however, we are expecting the use of the Ultium battery tech and EV platform in the upcoming 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EUV.
Both the Chevrolet Bolt EUV and EV are part of the series of EV cars that GM is expected to launch in the upcoming years. Besides this, GMC, Cadillac, and Buick are going to launch EVs in 2020. This includes vehicles like the crossover Cadillac Lyriq and GMC Hummer EV. According to GM, the EV trims will have options for front, rear, and all-wheel-drive. Additionally, they will deliver a luxurious experience and provide affordable transportation. Besides this, there will be many EV work trucks or vehicles with high-performance machinery. Both the Bolt EV and EUV will be affordable dignitary vehicles.
GM filed for the Bolt EUV trademark in April 2019. Before that, in May 2019, the first glimpse of the prototype was noticed in the market. Also, in 2017, GM showed a picture of the futuristic Bolt EUV in a presentation. The mechanical configuration of the Bolt EUV will be similar to the Bolt EV. The Bolt Ev generates 200 hp and 266 lb-ft torque along with a maximum range limit of 238 miles. The Bolt EUV is expected to have a similar or higher maximum mile range.
Also, the powertrain of the Bolt EUV will be similar to the Bolt EV. Fortunately, the Bolt EUV will have a significant difference in comparison to the Bolt EV. The Bolt EUV will have a different body style than the Bolt EV. The architectural platform of the Bolt EUV will be based on the Bolt EV and will be the second Chevrolet EV vehicle with the first-generation Bolt EV platform.
President of GM, Mark Reuss, also believes that thousands of engineers, designers, and scientists are working very hard to bring about a historic invention in the company’s EV trims. Stay tuned to stay updated about the latest news on 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV, GM, and 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV.
